Hackathon Mundo Biomédico – “Fingerprint for Health” was the winning project of the 6th edition


On June 1st 2023, UBImedical | UBIExecutive held, for the 6th consecutive year, the Hackathon Mundo Biomédico, a competition for ideas in the areas of health and life sciences, aimed at students of biomedicine, bioengineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, optometry and vision sciences, industrial chemistry, medicinal chemistry or computer engineering. With a total of 5 teams, and with a prize of 350€ to be awarded, the 25 participants presented differentiated projects where they tried to solve problems such as the interpretation of genetic sequencing data, tissue healing, accessibility to health data by migrants, or the high waiting time for care in health institutions. Before a jury composed of Pedro Maurício from Capgemini, João Gonçalves from CRInove – CCDRC and Liliana Ribeiro from BL Consulting Group, the winning project was the “Fingerprint for Health”, whose idea is a fingerprint system to facilitate the identification and recognition of patients’ data and history.
