About
The Master Data Lab – Covilhã R&D Unit is dedicated to the research and development of advanced solutions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Digital Health and Virtual Human Twins (VHTs).
One of the unit’s main areas of research will be MedTwin, a Master Data Lab initiative aimed at developing precision medicine technologies capable of integrating clinical data, imaging, biomarkers and other multimodal sources to support the understanding of disease progression, risk stratification and clinical decision-making.
R&D activities include the development and validation of AI and machine learning models, data architectures and interoperability, computational models and Digital Twins, explainability and decision-support mechanisms, as well as methodologies for the secure and responsible integration of health data.
Based in Covilhã, Master Data Lab aims to strengthen the link between scientific research, technological development and clinical application, promoting collaboration with universities, research centres, hospitals and national and international technology partners, and contributing to the creation and validation of new digital solutions for healthcare.
