UBI ranks 19th in Portugal’s Entrepreneurial Universities ranking, which includes 132 institutions

Startup Portugal, the entity responsible for promoting the national entrepreneurial ecosystem, presented the fourth edition of the Ranking of Entrepreneurial Universities in Portugal, which distinguishes Portuguese higher education institutions with the most start-ups founded by former students.
The growing contribution of Portuguese universities and polytechnics to the country’s innovation ecosystem is reflected in this ranking, which serves as a basis for future research on how academia promotes entrepreneurial talent.
Portugal’s Entrepreneurial Universities Ranking is developed based on data from Dealroom.co, a global intelligence platform on start-ups, innovation, high-growth companies and ecosystems, which is continuously updated.
Among 132 institutions, the University of Beira Interior ranks 19th, with 66 start-ups founded by alumni, which have raised around €104 million in investment and financing. From areas such as deep tech, artificial intelligence, hardware, pharmaceuticals, SaaS, IoT, marketplace, and 3D technology, with valuations between €1 million and €355 million, some are in the seed, early growth, late growth, and mature stages.
This position is in line with UBI’s growing and consolidated dedication to leveraging entrepreneurship, innovation and the translation of science produced in academia to society.
